German Graduate Financial Aid
Stipends (please apply by January 10 or July 20th)
A part-time graduate assistant in the German Studies Graduate Program is expected to teach one section of beginning or intermediate German or perform various services crucial to the Department. Tuition is waived for graduate students who are awarded half or full teaching assistantships and with full time registration (6 credits or more & maintaining a 3.0 or better). Both half and full teaching assistants may purchase excellent health-care coverage, heavily subsidized by UConn. Predoctoral fellowships are also available on a competitive basis. Applications involving financial aid should be submitted by January 10 for the following fall semester beginning in late August and by July 20 for the following spring semester beginning in mid-January. Mandatory orientations for international students begin in the middle of August.
