Undergraduate Spanish Scholarships

The University of Connecticut’s Puerto Rican/Latin American Cultural Center is pleased to announce a new scholarship award. The PRLACC Scholarship was established this year and honors a current UConn student, who has demonstrated a commitment to Latino issues through leadership and service to the community. The scholarship award is for up to $1,000.00.

Please share this information with students, staff, and faculty members. Deadline to apply is Friday, April 6, 2007. The application may be obtained at the Puerto Rican/Latin American Cultural Center or on our website at www.latino.uconn.edu/scholarships.html.

Eligible applicants must: (1) demonstrate involvement with, and commitment to, Latino issues through leadership and service to the community at UConn and beyond; (2) must have a B average; and (3) be a current UConn undergraduate or graduate student who will be enrolled in the Fall 2007 semester at UConn.

To apply for the award, the applicant must: (1) complete all items on the application form including the essay and references; (2) submit a resume; and (3) enclose an unofficial transcript. These documents must be turned in to the Puerto Rican/Latin American Cultural Center, 2110 Hillside Rd, Unit 3188, Storrs, CT 06269-3188 by April 6th. Selected applicant(s) will be announced at the Recognition Banquet on April 26, 2007.
